There's a hero in every corner
His friends call him “Terminator” or “Bugsy.” He’s actually an “Exterminator” (Guys, please note the difference in semantics!) But Eric Honan of Waltham Pest Control was a very interesting individual. He came to our house to get rid of, dare I admit, some pesky mice who were running amok through our 1929 walls. Eric was a great example of an ordinary work-a-day hero. While talking to him, I could tell he knew his stuff and was passionate about it. I ended up interviewing him for the Boston Globe, and found out some interesting facts about bugs and rodents as well. One of my favorite quotes from the interview: “I visit huge homes in Wellesley, Needham, and other fancy communities. Mice don’t care if you have $2 – or $15 million in the bank.” And P.S. Did Eric get rid of the mice in our house? Yes he did! Last I heard, they had packed their bags and were headed down to Orlando.
